I want to share my reasons for choosing natural health remedies. I grew up with Western medicine practices. Not a bad way to live, but now I also know about the much broader choices made available to me today. Listed below are the top four reasons why everyone should at least consider turning to natural health remedies first, before automatically booking an appointment. I am thrilled I have made this transition in my and my families health.
When one isn't feeling their best or not running at my optimal speed, there are many self-care alternatives from which to choose. Most will effectively relieve my symptoms as well as provide long lasting solutions to the root problem. Reaching for a prescription or over-the-counter drug may not always be the best first response. Many wellness products and devices are available to support the bodies own natural ability to keep itself healthy. The best apothecary on earth are our own bodies. Wellness products, devices and alternative medical practices are used effectively in combination with one another.
Please understand that of course there is still a prominent place for physicians in our society. I am simply saying I learn everything I can about the available natural health remedies, then choose what makes the most sense in the circumstance. Knowledge is definitely power in this instance.
“Death by medicine is a twenty-first century epidemic, and America’s war on drugs is clearly directed at the wrong enemy. Pharmaggedon is upon us.” –Dr. Joseph Mercola
Prescription drugs are currently responsible for more deaths annually than illegal drugs. According to Tom Frieden, the CDC director himself, “it’s a big problem, and it’s getting worse.”
Out of the 783,936 annual deaths from conventional medicine mistakes, approximately 106,000 of those are the result of prescription drug use. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, two-hundred and ninety people in the United States are killed by prescription drugs every day.
In 2009, there were nearly 4.6 million drug-related visits to U.S. emergency rooms nationwide, with more than half due to adverse reactions to prescription medications - most of which were being taken exactly as prescribed. When you add in the growing numbers of people who are using these drugs recreationally or due to addiction, you begin to see the magnitude of the problem that the pharmaceutical industry is propagating.
So it begs the question... How many people die every year from using natural health remedies, devices and alternative medicines? I couldn't find a study, but I am guessing the number approaches zero.
Case in point: I am prone to urinary tract infections (UTI). A quick trip to the doctor will cost my initial co-pay of $25.00. Then I have to pay for the lab test on my urine. There goes another $95.00. Since I don't have a prescription drug rider on my insurance, the two drugs I purchase for the relief of pain and symptoms cost another $45.00. That adds up to $165.00 per UTI. I get maybe four a year. Now I am looking at $660 out of pocket per year.
The first time I discovered I could take Lemongrass essential oil internally and rub a Purifying blend on my abdomen for the UTI, I was skeptical to say the least. But since the two bottles combined only cost me $28.00 plus tax and shipping, I figured I had very little to loose if it didn't work. But it did. And now, for the same $28.00, I get a year's worth of relief.
Let's not even mention the time and hassle it saved me by not having to travel to the doctor and then the pharmacy.
Natural health remedies simply work better than orthodox medical treatments in an overwhelming amount of cases.
Why? Because they treat the underlying cause, not just a symptom.
For instance, blood pressure drugs will lower your blood pressure, which treats the symptom. Still, the underlying cause of your high blood pressure still exists. Which means your lack of calcium and your pH imbalance continue to thrive in your body. If not rectified, death can be the untimely result.
Looking at it from a natural treatment stand point, you could cure the root cause of the problem by addressing your lack of calcium, magnesium and vitamin D. Thus, through natural health remedies, the real problem will be permanently gone.
